Students

The OSR facilitates students' engagement in research and creative activities by providing funding resources. The OSR provides funding to both undergraduate and graduate students to travel, purchase materials, develop innovative research projects, and assist with the completion of their thesis, project or dissertation.

SSI Graduate Research Award

This program is designed for graduate students completing a thesis, project, or dissertation. Funds from the Graduate Scholars Grant Writing Program, if awarded, must be used to support recipients’ thesis, project, or dissertation research or professional development activities.


Student Research & Travel (SRT) Grant

This program encourages and supports both undergraduate and graduate student research and creative activities by providing funding to support student research, as well as travel-related to academic growth and development. Students may use the funding to conduct research for an independent study, an academic course, honor’s project, or master’s thesis project to present at a conference or attend a conference. 


Outstanding Student Researcher Award

The award is designed to acknowledge one graduate and undergraduate student who has demonstrated exemplary scholastic work in both their academics and research within any field. 


Smoke and Tobacco Outreach And Prevention Scholars Program (STOPS)

CSUSB’s Smoke and Tobacco Outreach and Prevention Scholars (STOPS) is a grant-funded program designed to help develop a pipeline of dedicated tobacco control researchers and advocates. 


Undergraduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (URISE)

The NIH-funded U-RISE program (Undergraduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement ) program is seeking excellent undergraduate students who plan to continue their academic careers and gain a Ph.D. in research-based disciplines that have relevance to health (psychology, biology, chemistry, kinesiology, etc.). 


Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) 

The Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) is a 2-year program at CSUSB that provides financial support, research mentorship, and assistance with graduate school applications.
