The 13th Annual 'Meeting of the Minds' Student Research Symposium will be held on April 11th, 2024, from 10:00AM - 5:00PM at Santos Manuel Student Union (North), the Watson College of Education, and the Center for Global Intelligence.
Once you sign up, you will receive an email closer to the event with your session(s) and more information. If you have any changes or questions or want to confirm your session(s) before that email, please email dnwhite@csusb.edu.
Judges will select the Best Oral and Poster presentations that will be recognized during the OSR Recognition Reception on April 18th, 2024.
Oral Presentations
- Arrive at least 10 minutes before the session starts.
- At the beginning of the session, welcome attendees to the 13th annual "Meeting of the Minds" Student Research Symposium and inform them of the following information:
- Introduce yourself and the judging panel
- Inform attendees that the session will be recorded, and photos will be taken.
- Ask guests/speakers to make sure that they are muted.
- Inform speakers during their presentation time to turn on their camera and unmute themselves.
- Let the presenters know they have 10 minutes for their presentation and 5 minutes for questions.
- You will signal them when they have come to three minutes and one minute left in their presentation.
- Introduce the presenter by name and title of their presentation.
- At the end of each presentation, facilitate any questions offered by the attendees.
- Should you encounter any issues during the session, please message the Ushers /Event Support in the main zoom room.
Poster Presentations
- All juries are being asked to evaluate and score each of the posters assigned.
- The top posters will become the “Best Poster Presenter” for their college. They will have their name announced during the OSR Recognition Reception on April 18th, 2024, at 4pm. We invite you to join us!
- All judges will be assigned no more than 10 posters to review and will be asked to evaluate and score each of the posters based on poster content, layout design, and mechanics.
- The evaluations will take place electronically.
