About the University 

California State University, San Bernardino, one of the fastest growing campuses in the nation, is located in a Southern California metropolitan area 60 miles east of Los Angeles and 60 miles west of Palm Springs, at the foot of the beautiful San Bernardino National Forest. Noted for its beautiful 642-acre campus, the university serves a student body of approximately 17,000. The San Bernardino-Riverside region is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the nation. The area offers a wide variety of recreational and cultural opportunities. Housing costs are about one-half of those in Los Angeles. The university is growing and currently has approximately 400 full-time faculty, 550 permanent staff positions, and an annual budget of more than $100 million. The university has a major branch campus in Palm Desert.

Starting April 6, 2023, the California State University system recommends COVID-19 vaccinations as a crucial safety measure to prevent serious illness. We are pleased to announce that CSUSB students and employees will no longer be required to be fully vaccinated, based on the latest guidance and evolving circumstances. 

Although vaccinations are no longer compulsory, it is important to continue following all other health and safety measures established by the university, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations. This includes reporting COVID-19 cases and exposures through the COVID-19 reporting tool, and following safety precautions such as wearing a face covering if exposed.  

As of January 1, 2022 the CSU Out-of-State Employment Policy prohibits the hiring of employees to perform CSU-related work outside the state of California.
