Academic Programs

Active military members and veterans who wish to study at CSUSB can view the Degrees and Programs website, and they can choose from more than 70 undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and certificates through five academic colleges at CSUSB. In addition, more than 20 teaching credential programs and a doctorate in education are available through the university.  Those who have a preferred field of study may view the course requirements, units to degree and other information regarding the specific degree program. To facilitate academic planning, the CSUSB course catalog is available online. This bulletin contains brief course descriptions, requirements, and unit values. To get help choosing a degree plan that is perfect for you, it is recommended that you speak with an academic advisor.

Distance Learning

The CSUSB Academic Technologies and Innovation website  courses taught at a distance with the assistance of the university's Office of Academic Computing and Media. Online courses are either taught entirely or partially at a distance. Video courses originate from Cal State San Bernardino or CSUSB's campus in Palm Desert and are broadcast through two-way audio and video to one or more sites. Off-campus courses originate from sites other than the main campus.

Accreditation

California State University, San Bernardino is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the official accrediting body for institutions of higher learning in the West. The teaching credential programs are approved by the California State Board of Education, California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

Disclosure of Additional Requirements for Professional Licensure or Credentials

California State University, San Bernardino offers streamlined programs designed to be completed in two to four years, while meeting experiential hours, academic credits, and academic performance required for professional exams, licensing, or credentialing.

All efforts to build prerequisites and experiential hours into programs have been made, however, some CSUSB programs, outside programs, exams, or licensing and credentialing agencies, may require additional coursework as a condition of awarding or admission. Please review the requirements for completion of your program, and any additional coursework, exams, or experiential hours that are necessary for licensing or credentialing.
