Minor Options in Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies: (24) units
The Department of Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies offers three minor choices for students interested in learning more about children, adolescents, and families. All three of these minor choices offer coursework where students learn about theory, research, and applied practice as is relates to children, adolescents, and families.
- The Applied Early Childhood Development minor is for students interested in learning more about children age birth through eight. Required courses include both those focusing on theory and developmental milestones, as well as practical application with young children and their families.
- The Applied Child and Adolescent Development minor is for students interested in learning more about children aged eight through emerging adulthood. Required courses include both those focusing on theory and developmental milestones, as well as practical application with older children and youth, as well as their families.
- The CAFS General Track minor is for those interested in learning about children, adolescents, and families as well as gaining research and data analysis skills pertaining to these populations.
Open to students from other departments and colleges on campus.
A minimum of nine (9) units of the coursework required for the minor must be completed through regular enrollment at CSUSB, and six (6) units of the coursework required must be upper-division (3000-5999).
