What you can expect to learn during the information session
Information sessions are a great way to learn about the Watson College of Education programs. During our virtual meeting, I will discuss the following topics in detail:
We'll introduce the Doctorate in Educational Leadership program, its objectives, and the benefits of earning this prestigious degree.
We believe 21st-century leaders must develop cultures of excellence in their respective institutions and communities where educators and community stakeholders support, inspire and effectively communicate with one another; establish and maintain a culture of high expectations; celebrate and cherish human relationships; and communicate these values clearly and respectfully with all communities and stakeholders. Our leaders must also become visionary agents of change who can solve pressing problems, are committed to lifelong learning, are innovative, and are technologically savvy. Finally, our leaders must demonstrate integrity, practice self-reflection, and strive towards in-depth knowledge of local cultures and communities.
Through the coursework and design of the program, we will focus on the following five program learning objectives aligned to the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) guiding principles for program design, and, within those program learning objectives, we have identified eight specific program commitments.
We'll guide you through the application process, including deadlines, required documents, and how to submit your application.
We'll discuss the prerequisites and eligibility criteria for the program.
We'll provide information about available financial aid, scholarships, and other funding opportunities to support your journey in the program.
We'll open the floor for questions, allowing you to seek clarification on any aspects of the program, admissions process, or related topics.
At the end of the information session, I'll guide you on the next steps you should take to start your journey toward earning your Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
