We are committed to providing excellent programs that prepare candidates for initial teaching licensure. We work closely with the more than 55 school districts in our expansive region to develop and implement teacher preparation programs for various school settings. Those interested in teaching a range of subjects within their self-contained classrooms will benefit most from the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, which authorizes them to instruct reading, writing, math, and the humanities from grades K—8.
Graduates of the Single Subject credential program are authorized to teach one specific subject, such as English, math, science, home economics, history, or physical education, in most middle schools and high schools, in grades preschool and K–12.
CSUSB's Special Education Credential Program provides a path to a California Educational Specialist Credential and/or a Master's, with specializations in Mild/Moderate Support Needs, Extensive Support Needs, or Early Childhood Special Education.
This program is for those candidates seeking to empower diverse learners through bilingual education. It equips teachers with the skills to provide high-quality instruction, promote biliteracy, and foster cultural proficiency. Full tuition scholarship is available.
