How to Apply
Use the Cal State Apply Application
As part of the California State University System, applicants to CSUSB complete the system-wide Cal State Apply online
application. All students, including graduating seniors from CSU San Bernardino, must apply online at Cal State Apply and pay the $70 non-refundable application processing fee by the program deadline. Because graduate education is highly specialized, each master's, doctorate, and credential program at CSUSB sets its own requirements that go beyond the university’s baseline admission standards. Before applying, we recommend you carefully review your prospective program’s admission processes, requirements, and deadlines found on the Degrees and Department Contacts page; please contact the graduate program coordinator listed there if you have any questions about their admission requirements.

Submit Your Transcripts
To expedite processing, Graduate Studies accepts unofficial transcripts for the initial application evaluation. Applicants must submit official transcripts once they are accepted into a program.
The following transcripts will be required to determine your eligibility:
- Transcript with your earned degree(s) posted
- Transcripts with any post-baccalaureate level coursework taken
- Transcript from the last institution that you attended
Upload your unofficial transcripts to the DOCUMENTS section in Cal State Apply (photographs of transcripts are not acceptable). Uploading unofficial transcripts with your application will help you avoid missing program and early registration deadlines. If you are unable to upload your transcripts for any reason, we encourage you to finalize and submit your application, then email your unofficial transcripts to gradadmissions@csusb.edu as soon as possible.
If you are admitted, you will be required to submit official transcripts to the Office of Graduate Studies. Allow six weeks from the date you order your official transcripts to the date we process them. As soon as you receive your official notice of admission, arrange to have your official transcripts sent to:
California State University, San Bernardino
Attn: Office of Graduate Studies, CE-356
5500 University Parkway
San Bernardino, CA 92407
Email Electronic Transcripts To:
gradadmissions@csusb.edu
Electronic transcripts must be emailed directly by the institution you attended to be considered official transcripts.
Contact our office at (909) 537-5058 or gradadmissons@csusb.edu with any questions regarding your graduate application.
If you are an international student, please submit your transcripts to the Office of International Admissions at international@csusb.edu See below for more information on applying as an international student.
If admitted, please keep in mind that receipt of official transcripts has no bearing on your ability to register for classes. However, if you are receiving financial aid, you should send your official transcripts to gradadmissions@csusb.edu as soon as possible to ensure that your financial aid disburses by the first day of class. You are required to submit official transcripts for your first semester of enrollment. If you do not do so, we will place a hold on your registration for the following semester, and your admission could be revoked. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.
International Students: Please submit your transcripts to the Office of International Admissions. You may contact them at (909) 537-5288 or international@csusb.edu
Once admitted, please turn in your official transcripts as soon as possible to ensure you receive financial aid by the first day of class. We should receive your official transcripts no later than three weeks prior to the start of the semester.
