Scholarship
The LGBTQ+ Faculty Staff and Student Association's Scholarship will honor a student who can demonstrate academic success, financial need, and a commitment to LGBTQ advocacy or education. The scholarship will be awarded every spring semester and the recipient is included in the annual Lavender Reception, a commencement and recognition ceremony that celebrates the achievements of graduating students who identify with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community at CSUSB.
Eligibility
Eligible candidates must:
- Be a currently enrolled, full-time junior or senior undergraduate student.
- Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Identify financial need.
- Demonstrate a contribution to the LGBTQ community at CSUSB or elsewhere.
- Show leadership potential either within the LGBTQ community or within their field of study.
Candidates may be from any discipline and have no specific citizenship status.
Application
Candidates may apply through the CSUSB Scholarship Application via your MyCoyote portal. Each application should include:
- Thoughtful and well-written responses to several short essay questions.
- An updated resume.
- Contact information for one character reference.
A character reference may be any person of the applicant's choosing including, but not limited to CSUSB faculty and staff, a mentor, supervisor or peer.
