Our center has two observation rooms for students who need to complete observations for coursework. One observation room is for viewing our Poppies classroom and the other, larger, observation is for viewing our Daisies and Sunflowers classrooms. The lights are kept off in the observation rooms at all times to prevent the children from seeing in to the observation room.
Students do not need to call ahead but they do need to sign in with our front office when they come to observe and leave their cell phone in the office while in the observation rooms to protect the privacy of our children. We also ask you use pen and paper to take notes since we cannot monitor electronics and the light of the laptops/ipads enables the children to see through into the observation room.
Observation times for each classroom:
- Poppies (3 months to about 12 months of age): (there is almost always a baby napping but other babies awake in this room since their naps are on demand/as needed)
- 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Daisies (12 months to about 20/24 months of age): (most are still on a 2 nap schedule right now, which is why the day is so broken up)
- 8:00-11:00
- 1:30-5:00
- Sunflowers (about 20 months of age to 36 months): (one group nap time)
- 8:00-11:30
- 2:30-5:00
