For those looking for off-campus housing, the Department of Housing and Residential Education at CSUSB does not provide nor manage off-campus/outside housing alternatives. There are many resources available for finding off-campus housing.
Online listing sites such as Zillow or Apartments.com allow you to search for available rentals in your area. You can use filters to narrow down your search based on location, price, number of bedrooms, and other factors.
The Department of Housing and Residential Education does not manage off-campus resources. Students are strongly encouraged to use due diligence and to obtain references, read reviews, and other information regarding off-campus listings and facilities.
CSUSB does not manage, oversee, or vet any postings on non-affiliated websites or social media platforms nor does the University oversee any local landlords or property management companies.
As noted in the Student Housing License Agreement, CSUSB assumes no responsibility and provides no insurance or financial protection for your personal property. We strongly recommend that you get renters insurance coverage. As a resident of on-campus housing, you’re eligible to purchase coverage through GradGuard’s student renters insurance program. CSUSB does not receive compensation for providing this student benefit. GradGuard’s Renters Insurance is underwritten by Markel American Insurance Company.
Claims and coverage are subject to language, limits and exclusions, and policy. Visit GradGuard.com/renters to get more information about their coverage and a quote.
Learn more about preparing for a power outage on campus. While outages may occur unexpectedly for a variety of reasons, Southern California Edison Power may implement Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events when there are potentially dangerous weather conditions in wildfire-prone areas, including the CSUSB campus. DHRE created a webpage with helpful information about PSPS event preparation and logistics.
The Office of Services to Students with Disabilities (SSD) works with students regarding accommodations at CSUSB. Learn about services offered and the application process.
