Local Service-Learning/Internships

To complete the Certificate Program in Business Management and Public Administration, you can take Span 4443 (instead of Span 5557/Study Abroad). Please note that you can also participate in both, the study abroad in Spain AND complete Span 4443 to count towards a Spanish Minor.

About Span 4443

Span 4443 (3 units) is a service-learning course offered each semester (Fall and Spring).

The class requires 90 hours of service for academically related tasks using your Spanish language skills. You will be placed in an internship or service-learning project with a local business, non-profit, government agency, or in an educational context. The actual duties of your internship will benefit both you and the agency and will be determined by the agency or its representative(s), agreed to by you, with final approval resting with the Internship Coordinator. We partner with many different agencies, and these opportunities will change from semester to semester.

To sign up for Span 4443

Please complete the Span 4443 Service-Learning Interest Form

After you submit the form, you will receive a follow-up with information about your placement and the next steps. Please note this does not enroll you in the course.
