Spatial Arts

Spatial Arts is the area of discipline where students focus on the environmental aspect of 3-dimensional design in contemporary art practice. Space, form, material, colour, texture, light, scale and context all deliver content for such spatial art works.

At CSUSB spatial arts is primarily delivered in sculpture, ceramics, and glass-making classes. However, many students take an expansive approach to include performance, installation, and public art production within these areas and beyond.

Our facilities are uniquely suited for either small-to-medium scale object production as well as large-scale works and installations.
