The coronavirus pandemic has caused the University to transform in unprecedented ways. The University must consider what its future will look like given the economic crises caused by the pandemic and the toll on communities, students' lives, and all university members.
The Post-Pandemic Steering Committee will consider a series of recommendations on policies, procedures, and practices from the Post- Pandemic Subcommittees based on data-driven analysis of higher education's landscape in a post-pandemic context.
The subcommittees will assess CSUSB students' academic, financial, career, technical, housing needs, and overall well-being in a post-pandemic context and make recommendations based on data and answers to the following questions:
- How do we serve students whose education and life have been disproportionately disrupted due to the pandemic?
- In what ways can technology support the success of faculty, students, and staff in a post-pandemic context?
- How do we mandate change practices and reward them?
- How do we remove barriers for students, including international students, in a post-pandemic context?
- What concepts of belonging, mattering, and validation can we incorporate into services and pedagogy in a post-pandemic context?
- How do we reimagine physical-spaces such as smart classrooms, active learning spaces, housing, food services, research, and office space utilizing technology and health guidelines in a post-pandemic context?
- How do we increase and create equitable teaching, learning, and credential attainment that build a strong talent pipeline and set the foun¬dation for equitable communities in a post-pandemic context?
- What academic programs are needed to set the foun¬dation for students’ career success and equitable communities in a post-pandemic context?
