In-Service (Optional Credit) Training

Credit Guidelines and Policies

General Information

All In-Service (Optional) credit courses award semester units. Unless specified and approved by authorized personnel, In-Service (Optional) credit is designed for professional development and salary increment advancement. As such, credit earned for In-Service (Optional) credit courses are generally not applicable toward a degree or credential program.

Grades

You can anticipate receiving your university grade report within four to six weeks after your final class. Our In-Service coordinator will mail grade reports to the address provided during initial registration. Grade mailers validate course completion for employers, and if required, an official university transcript can be requested for further verification.

Transcripts

In-Service (Optional) credit students are encouraged to request official transcripts directly through the CSUSB Office of the Registrar. Your course completion, final grades, earned unit totals will be reflected on your transcripts accordingly. You can purchase transcripts by visiting the CSUSB Registrar's Office website listed below.

Unit Fees

In-Service (Optional) credit courses are charged at $105.00 per unit. As a reminder, 1 unit of optional credit is based on 15 hours of instruction. The chart below lists the In-Service (Optional) credit unit fee rate.
