Cathleen Lucas
Senior Grant Development Officer
Cathleen is a Certified Research Administrator (CRA) with over twelve years of experience in pre-award. She has both a Master's Degree in Communications as well as a Master's in Public Administration. Cathleen has extensive agency-specific specialized training for both the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Science Foundation (NSF) grant proposal preparation and submission. She is trained and up to date on all of the agency processes and requirements, with considerable expertise in NIH submissions. She will ensure the integrity of the formal submission of grants to federal, state, and local agencies.

Tanya Valery
Research & Sponsored Programs Coordinator
Tanya comes to ORSP with past experience working at Claremont Graduate University and has her B.S. in Business Management, an MBA, and recently received an MPA degree in 2017 from CSUSB. As the office manager for ORSP, she reviews and analyzes data to ensure accuracy for the grant officers and project directors. She specializes in the development, reporting, auditing, and all the critical components of electronic proposal submission, as well as being responsible for all opportunity communications to faculty. She is also our Webmaster.

Tomi Daniel
Grant Development Officer
Tomi comes to ORSP with prior experience in philanthropic grants management, bringing extensive expertise in faculty research development and a deep familiarity with CSUSB. She enjoys brainstorming with faculty to plan innovative projects and craft compelling grant proposals. With extensive experience in institutional and individual private grant submissions, Tomi brings a wealth of granting knowledge and is quickly mastering the intricacies of Sponsored Programs and internal processes. Tomi holds two master’s degrees (MPhil/MBA) and is currently working toward completing her PhD in Management-Organizational Design & Innovation. She has also been deeply involved in community and international development arenas for many years, showcasing her commitment to championing meaningful causes and driving positive change. As the grants development specialist for ORSP, she is involved with faculty in the development of institutional grants, contracts, public and private partnerships, as well as assisting the OSRP director.
