California State University, San Bernardino celebrated the remarkable achievements of its alumni at the annual Alumni Hall of Fame Awards, held on April 25 at the Alumni Center. The event brought together university leaders, faculty, students, and community members to honor distinguished alumni for their professional accomplishments and dedication to service.

Three university-wide awards were presented during the evening. Dr. Appannagari “Dev” GnanaDev, who earned his MBA from CSUSB in 2001, received the Distinguished Alumni Award for his leadership in the medical field as chairman of the Surgery Department at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and founder of Cal Med Physicians and Surgeons Inc. Mirna Orihuela, a 2014 graduate in health care management and regional administrator with Kaiser Permanente, was honored with the Emerging Leader Award. Roderick M. “Rod” Hendry, a double alumnus with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English, received the Coyote Spirit Award in recognition of his steadfast support of CSUSB, particularly at the Palm Desert Campus.

In addition to the university-wide honors, the university presented Paw Print Awards to alumni representing each of CSUSB’s five colleges. The honorees included Lt. Col. Jeffrey S. Lehmkuhl (B.A., Management, 2005) from the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, Kathleen E. Elison (B.S., Chemistry/Biochemistry, 2012) from the College of Natural Sciences, ValLimar Jansen (B.A., Theatre Arts, 1990) from the College of Arts and Letters, Mauricio V. Arellano (M.A., Educational Administration, 1996) from the James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education, and Wayne M. Harp (B.A., Sociology, 1972) from the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Throughout the evening, attendees celebrated the impact CSUSB alumni have made across industries and communities, reflecting the university’s commitment to preparing students for leadership, innovation, and service. The 2025 honorees exemplify the spirit and excellence that define the Coyote community.
