Introduction
The Diversity and Equity in Promotion, Tenure, and Hiring (DEPTH) project was created to enact initiatives dedicated to increasing the number of women and underrepresented minority faculty at CSUSB, particularly in STEM departments. DEPTH initiatives are a collaborative effort between faculty and administration that are supported by grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) ADVANCE program and CSU Chancellor’s Office. The DEPTH collaborative has developed several resources that can be used by the CSUSB community or adapted by other institutions to promote DEI in 1) faculty recruitment and hiring and 2) faculty evaluation and retention. In addition, DEPTH associates and DEPTH-trained DEI advocates/consultants are available to serve on CSUSB faculty search committees.
