The 71,000 square foot Center for Global Innovation (CGI) building opened on 9/9/19 and symbolizes the central role that global education plays on campus and the institutional commitment to internationalization.
CGI is the administrative home for the College of Extended and Global Education (CEGE) and provides services to all international students and scholars, including international degree-seeking students, English language learners; students participating in education abroad opportunities; Open University students; students in Extension and Special Sessions program, as well as other professional development programs.
Directly connected to Coyote Walk by a large outdoor shaded plaza, CGI includes 24 classrooms designed to accommodate collaborative learning, reconfigurable multi-purpose rooms and casual study lounges. Other features include opportunities for hosting special programs on the third-floor terrace, an exterior Global Plaza and large Global Gallery with a featured video wall. CGI also offers a 250-seat auditorium and retail food services on the first floor. Its interactive and innovative classrooms, conference rooms and other spaces provide space for innovative teaching, for students and faculty engagement, and for creative collaboration.
