By attending the MMIW program, folks will gain a deep understanding of the MMIW crisis, including its historical context, causes, and the impact it has on Indigenous communities across the U.S.
We will have a presentation by our student assistant, 4 speakers sharing their experiences as Native women, YouTube videos for a deeper dive, and activity for everyone to participate in, and 3 trivia questions where folks will have opportunities to win prizes.

Join the Women's Resource Center as we kick off Women's History Month with a mixer and educational poster art exhibit honoring women's rights movements across the globe. We'll have plenty of treats, community building activities, and guided critical discussions. Hope to see you there!

In this presentation, Dr. Donna Nicol, Associate Dean for Personnel and Curriculum and Professor of History in the College of Liberal Arts at Cal State Long Beach, will discuss her most recent book, Black Woman on Board: Claudia Hampton, the California State University and the Fight to Save Affirmative Action, which tells the extraordinary story of Dr. Claudia H. Hampton—the California State University (CSU) system's first Black woman trustee, who later became the board's first woman chair—and her twenty-year fight (1974–94) to increase access within the CSU for historically marginalized and underrepresented groups.
Dr. Francisca Afua Opoku-Boateng, Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity at CSUSB, will serve as interlocutor for the discussion.
The program includes a question-and-answer session, followed by a book giveaway and signing.

Join CSUSB Libraries to celebrate Women's History month through zines. Zines (pronounced “zeens”) are small, self-made, publications that can be about anything. We'll explore the history of zines and how to find digitized collections of zines. Bring your own device to explore these collections. Materials to start creating your own zine will be provided.

In this second Lead with the WRC workshop, we'll dive into your leadership roles in social movements, the history of social change leaders, and the important role you play in creating positive change for marginalized communities.
Lead with the WRC (Women's Resource Center) offers students a space to shape their leadership skills by exploring and discussing important issues regarding self-advocacy and allyship in leadership roles. All CSUSB students are welcome to participate.
