CSUSB joins a group of 471 colleges and universities recognized by ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge as a 2024 ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting.

Cal State San Bernardino is one of 471 colleges and universities in the nation recognized for outstanding efforts to increase nonpartisan student voter participation in the 2024 election.

CSUSB is making voting accessible by offering to its students complimentary rides to polling places on Lyft and hosting voting booths for the community at both the San Bernardino and Palm Desert campuses. Voting on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, will take place from 7 a.m.-8 p.m.  In addition, ballots may be dropped off at both campuses prior to Election Day.

Sept. 17 is National Voter Registration Day, and Cal State San Bernardino and the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus will hold voter registration events from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Be registered to vote in the Nov. 5 election. The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters will be on the San Bernardino campus and the Riverside County Registrar of Voters will be at the Palm Desert Campus from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sept. 17.

The third annual smARTshow, a collaboration between CSUSB and Manuel A. Salinas Creative Arts Elementary School, will feature the thought-provoking artwork of talented fourth-graders and be on display at the Garcia Center for the Arts in San Bernardino from May 3-9. The opening reception will take place on Friday, May 3, from 5-7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

CSUSB’s commitment to giving back to the community is showcased during the month of April as the Office of Community Engagement celebrates National Volunteer Month. 

“Cal State San Bernardino is a proud member of the American Democracy Project, and we continue to lead by example and advocate for the kind of democratic engagement and civic mindedness the program embodies," said university President Tomás D. Morales.

Coyote Cares Day on Feb. 17 had volunteers packing food for a local pantry and going out into the community to help out at area agencies for the annual day of service by students, faculty, staff and alumni from Cal State San Bernardino.

CSUSB was the only California State University to receive the 2024 Carnegie Community Engagement Classification from the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The elective designation highlights Cal State San Bernardino’s commitment to community engagement, and it is the second time CSUSB has renewed its classification.
