The Obershaw DEN at Cal State San Bernardino recently received a sizable donation from one of its community partners, the Caramel Connections Foundation.

Some 7,500 pounds of food and wellness items were shared with the Obershaw DEN from the Caramel Connections Foundation’s Food and Resource Giveaway Rally, held on Nov. 15 at the Anthony Muñoz Community Center in Ontario, in partnership with Feed the Children and Niagara Cares.

In addition, Camelia Fowler of CSUSB’s Office of Community Engagement, participated in the food giveaway event at which more than 2,000 families each received 25-pound boxes of food, 15-pound wellness care kits, cases of water and children’s books.

The Caramel Connections Foundation was founded by Elizabeth Pinder-McSwain, who serves as its executive director. She also is currently a second-year student in CSUSB’s master of public health program.
