Workshops and Events
Throughout each semester, the Student Success Studio hosts several events and workshops geared towards facilitating the campus community as well as helping individual students in their studies. These events are free and open to all CSUSB students. Here are some examples from the Fall 2024 semester to give you an idea of what we have to offer:
Tutor Study Sessions and Workshops
At S3, our tutors aren’t just here to provide one-on-one services, they also create and host study sessions and workshops throughout the semester. These events can assist students in the general study of a subject or be tailored for a specific class being offered during the semester. This is because our tutors have taken these classes before and work closely with professors in order to best serve the needs of students in their studies.
Writing Center Workshops
The S3 at PDC Writing Center is home to both individual and group services. Workshops are created and led by fellow students who have been where you are. This experience is used to create informative workshops around topics where students often need the most help. This includes essay planning and outlining as well as formatting. Help with formatting is one of the most requested services from our writing tutors. In order to meet the needs of students, workshops that address specific formats such as APA, MLA, and CMS are offered throughout the semester.
Campus Events
The Student Success Studio is a part of the broader campus family. It is our honor to be able to facilitate campus events during the semester that offer a chance at fun and informative community engagement. These events often include food, music, and games; as well as the opportunity to get to know your fellow Yotes!
Self-Care Events
Similar to campus events, S3 hosts multiple events geared at fun and relaxation from our studio at IW–203. These are smaller events that are centered around a fun and relaxing activity like coloring or crafting, and/or a speaker offering us tips and tricks on how to manage our stress as busy students.
