To earn your teaching credential, you'll need to complete the California Teacher Performance Assessment (CalTPA). This assessment focuses on your ability to plan, teach, assess, reflect, and apply your teaching skills in a real classroom setting. You'll go through two instructional cycles, where you'll demonstrate your understanding of your students, your ability to create engaging lessons, and your use of assessments to guide instruction. We've got resources to help you succeed with CalTPA, including training videos and important information for each cycle.
At CSUSB, we understand that every aspiring teacher has a unique journey. That's why we offer three distinct program tracks for our Single Subject Teaching Credential, each designed to accommodate different needs and preferences.
