The Mountain Communities Endowed Scholarship has provided financial assistance to mountain residents attending Cal State San Bernardino since it was established in 2003 by the Mountain Communities Scholarship Society.
These new scholarship recipients join a roster of more than 20 previous recipients from the past six years.
The funds raised surpassed the 2022 Giving Tuesday campaign, and will go toward student scholarships and programs.
The annual Giving Tuesday campaign is set for Nov 28. Donors can help support scholarships and programs, such as the CSBS Student Success Center, at the CSUSB Giving Tuesday website.
Attendees will learn about the exciting opportunities in cyber education that includes scholarships, apprenticeships, research, community and workforce development, and career readiness.
The National Science Foundation awarded the grant to the university’s School of Computer Science and Engineering, which will use it to provide scholarships, mentorships and experiential learning opportunities for low-income and underrepresented students, and to meet a growing need for talented computer professionals in the region.
The dessert-themed event at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 6, is geared to publicly recognize both the academic achievements of the college’s 2022-23 scholarship recipients and the donors who invest in their education.
CSUSB faculty and staff can help students and the university by donating to any fund, department or scholarship of their choice. The 2023 Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign goes through April 14.
