
Students, faculty and staff at Cal State San Bernardino remembered the sacrifice of the nation’s military when it held its annual Memorial Day ceremony on an overcast Wednesday morning.

Cal State San Bernardino and its Palm Desert Campus will be closed on Monday, May 28, in observance of Memorial Day. Both campuses will reopen on Tuesday, May 29.

Luis and Wendy Castaneira, both first-generation college students, will graduate together — each with honors — on Thursday, June 14. Luis will receive a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Wendy with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

The university will surpass 100,000 graduates during its five commencement ceremonies on Thursday and Saturday, June 14 and 16, when more than 3,500 students are expected to participate.

The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus will honor Timothy Castro, Outstanding Graduate Student, and Kaela A. Bonafede, as its Outstanding Undergraduate Student on Thursday, June 14.

The Palm Desert Campus Commencement at The Show at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage will be the first of five graduation ceremonies, with the remainder set for Saturday, June 16.

Four ceremonies for the university’s five academic colleges will take place beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The Palm Desert Campus held its commencement on June 14.

The Cal State San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus held its annual nursing pinning ceremony on June 15 in the Indian Wells Theater.

After more than 50 years of service, Cal State San Bernardino surpassed 100,000 graduates during its 2018 Spring Commencement ceremonies on June 14 and June 16.
