Nick Conoway is the first University Legacy Scholar to graduate from the Palm Desert Campus

Nick Conoway, who graduated this fall summa cum laude, is a member of the first group of University Legacy Scholars at PDC and the first University Legacy Scholar to graduate from the Palm Desert Campus since the program began in fall 2017.

Diane Vines (nursing) discussed a grant received by the Street Medicine program at CSUSB’s Palm Desert Campus, and Brian Levin (criminal justice) appeared on MSNBC’s “PoliticsNation” to discuss the latest FBI hate crime report.

CSUSB Palm Desert Campus students will work together in teams to determine key messages, and will write and produce online, press, video and radio broadcast content focused on the programs and success stories of the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs.

Street Medicine program nursing students work in the field. The $50,000 grant will be used to improve access to healthcare for traditionally underserved populations, increase mobile medical clinics, improve health-related infrastructure in the Coachella Valley and strengthen engagement of nurses and nursing students with the homeless.

The Street Medicine program is a collaborative partnership between the CSUSB Department of Nursing at the Palm Desert Campus; the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine; Desert Regional Medical Center; Well in the Desert; and the Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine.

California State University, San Bernardino and its Palm Desert Campus will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

CSUSB and its Palm Desert Campus will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. The university will reopen remotely for business and virtual classes will resume on Thursday, Nov. 12.
