Maylei Blackwell of the César E. Chávez Department of Chicana/o and Central American Studies at UCLA will be the keynote speaker at this year’s conference, which will take place in person beginning at 9 a.m. in the John M. Pfau Library, room PL-5005, and also offered virtually, with a livestream available for the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus in the Rancho Mirage Student Center.
Cal State San Bernardino welcomes John Binkley as the new associate vice provost and dean of the College of Extended and Global Education. Binkley will also hold a tenured academic appointment in the Department of Theatre Arts.
Sonia Otte, founding director of Cal State San Bernardino’s Master of Science in Physician Assistant (MSPA) program, recently discussed the vision and plans for the new curriculum that will launch in August 2025.
Sonia Otte, MSPA founding program director, was featured in the podcast, "Pulse of the PA," and Mike Stull, entrepreneurship, discussed the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship’s State of Entrepreneurship Minority Report.
Sonia Otte recently gave a poster presentation titled, “Improved Patient Experience and Outcomes: Is Patient-Provider Concordance the Key?” at the American Academy of Physician Associates national conference in Nashville, Tenn.
A selection of courses are being offered that allow students to complete the requirements needed for graduation. Classes fill up quickly, so students are encouraged to register early.
The federal funding for the MSPA program is part of the federal fiscal year 2023 appropriations package and will be designated to purchase teaching and lab equipment.
The CSUSB MSPA program expects to begin recruiting for faculty and staff positions starting in January 2023 and matriculating its first class of 40 students in August 2025.
The MSPA program will be launched in fall of 2024 with 30 students and grow to a maximum of 85 students within three years.
