Cal State San Bernardino President Tomás D. Morales was one of three hosts at the semi-annual meeting of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) held earlier this week in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
The three-day conference will be led by current COMPA president Marc Fudge, an associate professor of public administration at the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration at CSUSB.
Alexandru V. Roman, an associate professor of public administration, will give the opening presentation at the annual California Community Colleges Purchasing Conference, April 4-6, in San Diego.
The team, representing the country of Jamaica, received honorable mention, and two students earned Outstanding Position Paper honors at the annual conference, which ran from March 25-29.
The conference, which commemorates the 40th anniversary of Arab Studies Quarterly, carries the theme, “U.S. Hegemony and the Arab World,” and will take place April 20-21 at Cal State San Bernardino.
“Democracy in the Americas and Immigration” will take place April 19 and 20 at the John M. Pfau Library, room PL 5005. The event is free and open to the public.
The 12th annual Latin American Studies Conference: Study of the Americas at CSUSB explored a variety of issues ranging from democracy, immigration, culture to identity concerning Latinos and indigenous peoples in the U.S.
The conference, “U.S. Hegemony and the Arab World,” commemorated the 40th anniversary of Arab Studies Quarterly, centered on the theme, “U.S. Hegemony and the Arab World.”
The conference on Friday, May 4, will feature keynote speakers, breakout workshops and tours of the campus.
