The inaugural conference on April 19 will bring together representatives of higher education, law enforcement and corrections, community-based organizations and rehabilitative agencies to raise awareness of the challenges formerly incarcerated and system-impacted individuals face, and opportunities available to help them succeed.

“Crafting in Mesoamerica,” which is free and open to the public, will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 4 at the university’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

CSUSB’s Model United Nations team again earned top honors at the recent National Model United Nations Conference in New York City, and given its long track record of excellence, solidifying the university’s program among the best in the world.

The team of 18 students, representing diverse academic and personal backgrounds, earned the Outstanding Delegation Award, the highest honor given by the National Model United Nations Conference. They represented the country of Cameroon in the annual conference held April 2-8 in New York City.

Angela Clark-Louque (education) was a guest panelist at the California Association of African-American Superintendents and Administrators’ recent summit and on the Growing Inland Achievement program “Education Insight,” Ahlam Muhtaseb (communication studies) discussed a plan by the G7 nations targeting big tech companies that move profits to low-tax offshore havens, Anthony  Silard (public administration) wrote on overcoming rejection, and Brian Levin (criminal justice) discussed the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot and anti-Asian hate crimes.
