Ahlam Muhtaseb (communication studies) will participate in a program, “The Nakba and Palestinian Refugees 75 Years On: Why They Still Matter,” on May 17, and Enrique Murillo Jr. (education) was officially sworn in as a member of President Biden’s Advisory Commission on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics.

RAFFMA’s galleries will be filled with a variety of media, subjects, approaches and styles that express a wide range of ideas about traditional and contemporary art.

Original CSUSB undergraduate student artwork will be on display at RAFFMA from May 20-June 24. An awards ceremony will be held this Thursday, May 18, at 6 p.m., followed by a reception at 7:30 p.m.

Beth A. Steffel has served on the ASCSU in various capacities including as vice chair, secretary, executive committee member, vice chair of the Fiscal and Governmental Affairs Committee, and ASCSU Senator.

Designed, created and installed by students, “Eternal Learning” consists of 850 square feet of ceramic tile that depicts humans at work, study and play among larger-than-life books. The project took five years to make with the help of 20 CSUSB students.

The mural of ceramic will be formally introduced during a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, at the college. The work was student-designed, student-created and student-installed.
