CSUSB’s Department of Theatre Arts will be holding auditions for two upcoming productions: William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Mariposa/Butterfly” by Sandra Fenichel Asher and José Casas. Auditions will be held on Sept. 4 and 5 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with callbacks scheduled for Sept. 6. The auditions will take place at the CSUSB Performing Arts Building.
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” with performances scheduled for November 15-24, offers gender-fluid casting. Interested participants are encouraged to prepare a one-minute monologue, which can be either classic or contemporary, for the audition.
“Mariposa/Butterfly” is a touring puppet show designed for elementary-aged children, with a particular need for Spanish speakers. No preparation is required for this audition.
