A wrap-up of featured panels at the San Diego Comic-Con reported that Stuart Sumida, CSUSB biology professor, will be one of the science advisors appearing on a Sunday, July 28, panel “Camp Cretaceous and Why We Love Dinosaurs.”

CSUSB professor presents talk at Yunnan University

Yawen Li (social work) presented at talk at Yunnan University recently. Titled “The Role and Function of Social Workers in Aging Services in the U.S.: The Case of Chinese American Social Workers,” the July 10 talk was well attended by more than 50 social work students and faculty of Yunnan University.

Yunnan University is one of CSUSB’s long-time international partners in China. Since the early 2000s, Yunnan University has sent hundreds of students to CSUSB.

Research by the Cal State San Bernardino Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism was cited in an article about political violence in the U.S.  “In its 2023 findings, the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism and California State University found out that there was a 17 percent increase in hate crimes and violence in America’s top ten cities. Professor (emeritus) Brian Levin noted that ‘the top ten cities generally match what is going to happen nationally.’”
