This cohort-based 3-year program is designed to serve the learning needs of full-time professionals in the field. Courses are conveniently offered on weekends, Friday 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Students take eight semesters (Fall, Spring, and Summer) of year-round coursework while simultaneously meeting the milestones toward the dissertation. Students are encouraged to identify a field-based problem of practice for their dissertation that is relevant to their institution, field, or community.
Ed.D. Program scholar-practitioners are PreK educators and leaders, K-12 educators, teachers, counselors, and school leaders, and community college/university faculty, student affairs professionals, educational consultants, and other campus leaders/administrators. PreK-12 Track
The Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a specialization in PreK-12 offers specialization courses in: Foundations of Leadership in PK-12 Institutions, Leadership in Pupil Personnel Services, Leadership for Teaching and Learning in PreK-12, Public School Organization, Governance, and Policy, and Assessment and Data Driven Decision-making in PreK-12.
Community College/Higher Education Track
The Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Community College/Higher Education offers specialization courses in: Foundations of Community Colleges and Other Higher Education Systems, Career and Technical Education Leadership in Community College, Leadership for Teaching and Learning In Community College/Higher Education, Higher Education Organization, Governance and Policy, and Assessment and Data Drive Decision-making in Community Colleges/Higher Education.
