Scholarships

California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is dedicated to making education attainable and affordable. College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (CSBS) Scholarships:

CSBS College Scholarship

The CSBS College Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences at the junior, senior, or graduate level who have a record of academic excellence.

Ellen Howell Endowed Student Support Fund

The Ellen Howell Endowed Student Support Fund is awarded to a top students enrolled in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences who had also completed the Social Sciences 3060 writing course with a grade of B or better.

Jamal R. Nassar Student International Travel Fund

This Student International Travel Fund was established by our college’s retired Dean, Dr. Jamal Nassar. This award provides support for students who travel internationally as a part of their educational experience at California State University, San Bernardino. Award recipients demonstrate an interest in global affairs as well as an interest in understanding people of different cultures.

Juana and Cadido Rivera Family Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established in honor of Juana and Candido Rivera, parents of CSBS alumnus (Anthropology, 1973), 2009 CSBS Hall of Fame Inaugural class and College Development Council member Mrs. Sally Rivera. This endowment will provide support for students who are majoring in Social Sciences or Humanities with preference given to students majoring in history or literature.

Mustafa and Beatriz Milbis Endowed Student Support Fund

The Mustafa and Beatriz Milbis Endowed Student Support Fund provides support for a student of great potential who demonstrates an interest in global relations and an understanding of different cultures, with a desire to truly want to make a difference in the world.

Reynolds C. Gross Memorial Scholarship Endowment

This endowment was established in memory of LTC Reynolds C. Gross, United States Army, who faithfully served his country in non-commissioned and commissioned capacities for 28 years. The recipient of the scholarship is required to be an Army ROTC cadet in good standing at California State University, San Bernardino as well as an outstanding student.

Social and Behavioral Sciences Development Council Award

This fund was established by the Members of the College Development Council, and is  awarded to a student of academic distinction.

Zapletal Charitable Trust Endowed Scholarship

The Zapletal Charitable Trust Endowed Scholarship was established to support veterans and their families. To be eligible for this scholarship, students can be veterans of the armed forces or active in the armed forces, the children of veterans or Junior or Senior level students enrolled in the Army ROTC or Air Force ROTC programs. Additionally, students whose spouse or parent have been wounded in the line of service or who have lost a parent or spouse after their military service was completed are also eligible.
