You are cordially invited to the 9th CSUSB Korean Festival on Friday, April 19, 2024.
The Festival will have three components:
- Traditional Korean Wedding Ceremony & the Table Setting, and Making Guksu: 2:30 PM–4:00 PM, Conference Center at North SMSU (free admission)
- Dinner Reception: Hansik – Bap (rice) & Banchan (side dishes), Korean beverage & sweets, 5:00 PM–6:00 PM, Event Center at South SMSU (ticketed)
- Performance Showcase, 6:30 PM–7:30 PM, Event Center at South SMSU (ticketed)
As this year’s theme is “Hansik: an abundance of tastes, ingredients, dishes, and surprises,” the opening of the festival will showcase elements of the rich Korean food tradition by watching Honryesik (traditional Korean wedding ceremony) and the food through the table setting. There will be a cooking demonstration of Guksu-making. The opening ceremony is first come, first served.
At the dinner reception starting at 5 p.m., guests will be served, of course, Hansik with Bap and Banchan.
Following the dinner reception, the performance showcase will take the audience to Korea in modern and old times. This year, the showcase will highlight traditional Korean Performance presented by Korean Traditional Music Institute of America, and K-pop cover dance by Tartan Seoul.
Tickets are $10 each and the information for ticket purchase will be provided soon.
We hope you attend the 9th CSUSB Korean Festival to intimately experience Korean culture.
