The San Manuel Opportunity Scholarship is available to half-time or full-time undergraduate students. Criteria and award amounts vary depending on enrollment status so please read the below information carefully.
Full-time (6.5+ units) and half-time (6 units or less), undergraduate students are eligible for the scholarship if they meet the following criteria:
- are in good academic standing
- have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater
- demonstrate interest in studying tribal issues, Native American studies, or actively engage with local tribal communities
- Resident student
Applicants chosen for the scholarship must document at least five hours of community service with a tribal organization or provide proof of attending a CSUSB Native American event(s) during the academic year that equate to a total of 5 hours or more. This will be a key factor for re-consideration of the award for participants applying to renew their scholarships for the subsequent academic year.
Scholarship awards typically range from $300 - $4,000. Scholarships are also renewable as long as students continue to meet the requirements of the scholarship. The scholarship can be used for tuition and or education-related expenses (books, school supplies, etc.).
