Two-time alumnus Matthew Markin, academic advisor in CSUSB’s Office of Academic Success and Undergraduate Advising, was selected as a mentor for the 2024-2026 NACADA Emerging Leaders Program. He is one of six mentors and 12 emerging leaders were selected for the two-year program.
This funding round by the National Association of Higher Education Systems (NASH) focused on initiatives aimed at removing cost as a barrier to college through innovative practices that enhance affordability and support equitable access to higher education.
Academic Advisor Matt Markin is the host of “The CSUSB Advising Show with Matt Markin,” streaming on the university’s Coyote Radio at 4 p.m. every Friday. “This is a fantastic opportunity to reach current students and possible future students of CSUSB,” Markin said.
The CSUSB College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Advising and ASI will host two virtual workshop sessions to mark the week, whose theme is “Thriving Through Transfer.”
CSUSB’s Advising & Academic Services has launched “CSUSB Advising,” a podcast for students and parents providing advising updates and tips. The first podcast was posted on Aug. 10.
Coyote Advising One Stop offers students information about academic resources, and also features free goodies, music and prizes. Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend as well.
