Dr. Caroline Lim is an assistant professor of social work at California State University, San Bernardino. She completed her master’s degree in social work at Columbia University and then received her Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. Dr. Lim's research commitment centers on an enhanced understanding of the heterogeneous treatment outcomes in schizophrenia. Her recent work has focused on examining the clinical outcomes of Asian Americans diagnosed with a schizophrenia spectrum disorder. Before pursuing her doctorate in social work, Dr. Lim spent 6.5 years as a psychiatric social worker at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Singapore. In this role, her main responsibility was to oversee the care of individuals referred for first-episode psychosis treatment, the majority of whom were diagnosed with schizophrenia.
