Understanding the Process

Being admitted to CSUSB as a Pre-Nursing student is the first step to earning your BS in Nursing at CSUSB. However, it is important to understand that a Pre-Nursing student is not yet a Nursing student. Pre-Nursing students must take several pre-requisite courses and meet other requirements before they can apply to be admitted into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

Only students admitted to the university as a Pre-Nursing student will be eligible to apply for admission into CSUSB’s Nursing pre-licensure program, leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Once admitted to CSUSB, students cannot submit a change of major into Pre-Nursing if they were admitted to the university under a different major. As such, if you want to pursue the BS in Nursing, you must first apply to CSUSB as a Pre-Nursing Student.
