Hawkins, who served at the university for 33 years as an administrator for various programs including Upward Bound and EOP, passed away on Nov. 18.
CSUSB held a series of events to celebrate first-generation students and their successes as part of the second annual First-Generation College Celebration held Oct. 23-Nov. 6.
CSUSB’s Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math have been awarded $4,023,440 in federal funding for their programs to help students in San Bernardino and Rialto graduate from high school, and enroll and graduate from college.
Dalia Hernández was honored for her outstanding service by the Western Association of Educational Opportunity Personnel (WESTOP) Southern California Chapter.
The conference for area high school students, “Calling All Leaders: Speak UP, Speak OUT,” is set for Saturday, Feb.23.
