The interdisciplinary group of faculty and student scholars is conducting qualitative interviews with local residents to uncover prominent cultural narratives concerning the Salton Sea and its impact.
Thomas Corrigan (communication studies) was interviewed about former NBA player Kwame Brown’s sharp criticism of former players-turned-sports-media-pundits, and Brian Levin (criminal justice) was sought out by media on topics related to extremism.
Brian Levin (criminal justice) was part of a panel of experts interviewed about the increase in hate incidents targeting Asian Americans, and Michael Karp (history) coordinated and hosted the 16th annual Academic WorldQuest competition held virtually on March 4.
The competition is usually hosted by Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus in the Indian Wells Theater, but arrangements were made to hold WorldQuest virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Department of History will host its fall graduation celebration and its Phi Alpha Theta “Ritual of Induction” on Friday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
