
Nicholas Conoway, a junior majoring in business administration, will attend the 2020 University of California Summer Institute for Emerging Managers and Leaders at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management.

CSUSB’s public history program and English department were among the community groups that came together Feb. 8 to present the annual showcase and celebration of Native American poetry, music and art.

Palm Desert High School won its fourth consecutive Academic WorldQuest competition, which took place at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus. The winners advance to the national competition in Washington, D.C., in April.

Priscilla Porter, of the Porter History-Social Science Resource Room at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus, was interviewed for a podcast on the upcoming WorldQuest competition at PDC on Feb. 4.

Artist and Cal State San Bernardino alumna Jean Vezzalini will host a reception on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., to showcase her paintings in the lobby of the Indian Wells Theater at the university’s Palm Desert Campus.

The hiring of Pablo Gomez (psychology) as the first fulltime CSUSB Palm Desert Campus faculty member is included in recent news coverage. Sam Crowell (education, emeritus) Stuart Sumida (biology) and Brian Levin (criminal justice) also are included.

Pablo Gomez is an associate professor of psychology, teaching cognitive psychology and statistics/methods courses.
