The Dr. David Riefer Endowed Student Award Fund was established with a $52,000 gift from the retired professor. A four-time Golden Apple award recipient and the 2000 Outstanding Professor of the Year, he taught at CSUSB for 34 years.

Nora Nickoel Ortega has been named a CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement recipient for 2020-21, the CSU’s highest recognition of success based on superior academic performance, community service and personal accomplishments.

Out of 250 applicants and as part of the California Pre-Doctoral Program, CSUSB students Nora Nickoel Bianey Ortega and Shane Burrell are among the 77 Sally Casanova California Pre-Doctoral Scholars for 2020-21.

All proceeds will benefit the CSUSB Sports and Entertainment Marketing Scholarship Fund. The program is housed in the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration.
