The university is among the nation’s best institutions serving military and veteran students in the large universities category, and the only one ranked that high in the state.
The award is the highest given by the national honor society, and the 10th overall, which the Theta Iota Chapter at CSUSB has received.
In its annual College Guide and Rankings, Washington Monthly magazine ranked Cal State San Bernardino in the top 10 for the categories Best Bang for the Buck in the West and for national universities with master’s programs.
CSUSB is No. 17 in the nation on the "Social Mobility Index" (SMI), developed by PayScale and CollegeNET, that measures the extent to which a college or university educates more economically-disadvantaged students at lower tuition.
For the fourth time in five years, and for the third consecutive year, the CSUSB club and honor society has been named the best chapter in the nation by the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society.
The journal, which showcases the work of undergraduate and graduate students, won third prize in the 2018 Gerald D. Nash graduate print journal national competition, the first time it had been entered in this category.
