With a strong focus on community-building and academic success, CSUSB’s Student Veterans Organization (SVO) has cultivated a supportive environment for student-veterans, dependents of veterans, active servicemembers, ROTC cadets and military supporters.
The free Veteran Entrepreneurship Program, designed for Riverside County veterans, active-duty members and their direct family members, will teach the skills, knowledge and mindset needed to navigate the entrepreneurial landscape.
With their experience in the military and in firefighting, first-generation CSUSB computer engineering student Vicky Lopez hopes to create devices that help with the safety of firefighters, first responders and/or military personnel.
CSUSB’s Veterans Success Center offers a writing program directed specifically toward veterans and their family members. The result, 10 years on, is a trove of published books, regular appearances at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books and a collection of author-veterans who range from poets to novelists to screenwriters.
CSUSB, which ranked No. 10, was compared to over 300 other institutions nationwide, and is also the only California State University to make the top 100.
Cal State San Bernardino has once again been named a Military Friendly® School and a Military Spouse Friendly® School for 2023-24 under the large public university category.

The university has been named a 2021-2022 Military Friendly® School with a gold ranking for its commitment to veterans who are students and their families.
