California State University, San Bernardino and Sejong University, Republic of Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen their educational and cultural ties. The new partnership was created to advance the internationalization efforts of both campuses through a variety of collaborative programs, including academic transfer initiatives, student, faculty and staff exchange programs and joint research projects.
The MOU, effective for five years with an option for renewal, represents a step toward fostering global academic cooperation between the two universities. This agreement will open doors for students, faculty, and staff to engage in meaningful cross-cultural experiences and educational opportunities.
CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales emphasized the importance of the partnership.
“This agreement reflects CSUSB’s commitment to cultivating a global academic community,” Morales said. “Our partnership with Sejong University will provide our students, faculty and staff with invaluable opportunities to engage in cultural exchange and academic collaboration. By working together, we can better prepare our students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.”
The collaboration will focus on promoting direct contact and research cooperation in fields of mutual interest and encouraging intellectual exchange that enhances the academic environment at both universities.
Jonghwa Eom, president of Sejong University, noted the importance of the agreement.
“We are excited to partner with California State University, San Bernardino. This MOU represents a meaningful step in fostering international academic collaboration,” he said. “Through student and faculty exchanges, joint research and academic programs, we look forward to building a lasting relationship that benefits both institutions and contributes to global education.”
The collaboration exemplifies both universities’ dedication to promoting international understanding and academic excellence. Working collaboratively, CSUSB and SJU aim to enrich their campus communities through innovative educational and research initiatives.
