CSUSB: 'Eternal Learning' points to mission of James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College

Called “Eternal Learning,” the tile mural will be formally introduced during a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, at the of James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education. The work was student-designed, student-created and student-installed, said Alison Ragguette, professor of art and design and director of the project.
Designed by Raul Diaz and Melissa Medina and supported by the Judy Rodriguez Watson Public Art Project, it consists of 850 square feet of ceramic tile. “Eternal Learning” depicts humans at work, study and play among larger-than-life books, and included scenes of learning activities such as shared reading, conducting science experiments, playing basketball, and gazing at stars. Floating between the scenes are letters of the alphabet.

The Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art at CSUSB presents smARTshow, a conceptual art exhibit featuring fourth-grade work from students at Manuel A. Salinas Creative Arts Elementary School. An opening reception will be on Friday, May 5, at the Garcia Center for the Arts
This show is a collaboration between Oraib Mango, CSUSB professor of world languages and literatures, and William Beshears, a fourth-grade GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) teacher at the elementary school.
The exhibition will be on display at the Garcia Center for the Arts, 536 W. 11th St. in downtown San Bernardino, through May 19.
