The College of Education at Cal State San Bernardino will host a panel discussion, “Equity and Inclusion in Education,” on Wednesday, March 24, at 1 p.m. on Zoom.

In the state of California, Black, Latino, low-income and/or English language learners continue to have low academic outcomes. Truly inclusive education requires a focus on achieving equity in education, focusing on both academic standards and the mental health of students.

The panelists for this presentation are committed to working toward closing academic achievement gaps. To this end, they will discuss issues of academic equity, equity in restorative practices and cultural competency in both the classroom and in school counseling.

Panelists are:

  • Jackie Maner, principal of Del Vallejo Leadership & STEAM Academy, San Bernardino City Unified School District;
  • Wil Greer, director of Equity and Targeted Student Achievement, San Bernardino City Unified School District; and
  • April Clay, CEO of Clay Counseling Solutions in San Bernardino County
