Robert J. Nava, vice president for university advancement and executive director of the CSUSB Philanthropic Foundation, has been selected to serve on the 18-member Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Committee on College and University Foundations.

The national committee provides leadership and guidance to CASE on issues related to the operations of institutionally related foundations and the distinctive professional development resources for foundation professionals who serve higher education institutions across the United States. Nava’s three-year board term began July 1, 2020.

“We are truly delighted for Robert’s well-deserved appointment to the CASE Committee on College and University Foundations. It’s a tribute to his experience and leadership in higher education,” said CSUSB President Tomás Morales. “Robert has distinguished himself in leading our advancement department in fundraising, developing programs to promote the university, and in expanding our outreach with elected officials, business leaders, educators as well as the communities we serve.”

Nava’s leadership experience leading philanthropic foundations includes serving as president of the San Francisco State Foundation and the University of California Riverside Foundation. Nava was appointed vice president for advancement and executive director of the CSUSB Philanthropic Foundation in October 2018.

The CSUSB Philanthropic Foundation is a nonprofit corporation chartered solely to support, benefit and advance the mission of California State University, San Bernardino. The Foundation pursues opportunities to promote the university, support fundraising and build strong community relationships that complement the university’s teaching, research and public service goals.
